Remakes do seem to be the flavour of the season.
From Dil Bechara, Laxmii to Coolie No. 1…. Even 2020 saw the remake trend go strong. Audiences have been having a mixed reaction to the releases though.
And if recent reports are to be believed, then after remaking Arjun Reddy into Kabir Singh, producer Murad Khetani has another remake up his sleeve.
And this time it’s a Madhuri Dixit film!
As per Bollywood Hungama, Murad Khetani has bought the official remake rights of Madhuri Dixit Nene-Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Tezaab’. The plot of the action-romance film reads – “After his parents are killed, Mahesh’s life is ruined as he gets imprisoned and separated from Mohini, who suffers due to her cruel father. Mahesh returns to save Mohini and settle old scores.”
A source told the portal -“There were two producers who were eying the remake rights to Tezaab. Murad Khetani fetched it for a little higher price than his counterpart. He plans to put the whole project together once he is done with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequel and the Thadam remake. He also has Namak Halal and Tezaab will be his fourth remake to be precise.”
The project is at the scripting stage and is yet to be seen if Anil and Madhuri will appear in this movie at all.
