Here’s wishing the gorgeous Janhvi Kapoor a very happy birthday!
The ‘Dhadak’ actress is celebrating her 24th birthday today.
Janhvi is currently busy promoting her upcoming horror-comedy movie ‘Roohi’, co-starring Rajkumar Rao & Varun Sharma.
Recently, during an interview with HT, Janhvi was asked whether she made her mother Sridevi’s character Anju-Manju from ‘ChaalBaaz’ movie as her reference point for her double role in ‘Roohi’.
The 24-year-old actress revealed that she made a conscious decision of not taking any inspiration from her mom’s role for her dual role as Roohi-Afza in the Rajkumar Rao & Varun Sharma starrer.
Not only that, but she also spilled the beans on why she can’t watch her mom’s movie ‘Chaalbaaz’.
“There was no real reference point for Afza’s character, and I was trying to be conscious about not mimicking anyone. I don’t think anyone in the world can match up to the level of work that my mother has put out. I would honestly always have a hard time watching ‘ChaalBaaz’ because they were very mean to her in the film. As a kid, I was very traumatized every time I tried to watch that film,” she said.
Talking about her characters, Janhvi described Roohi as ‘vulnerable, fragile and docile’, while Afza as ‘very animalistic, inhumane energy’.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Maddock Films’ & Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, ‘Roohi’ is releasing in theatres on March 11.
