With Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ having officially kickstarted, hype has also been rising around another adaptation of the epic – Madhu Mantena’s Ramayana 3D!
Deepika Padukone, who exudes a regal vibe and is known to pull off majestic performances has been locked in to play Sita.
While earlier it was being speculated that Hrithik Roshan would be playing Ram in this production, a Bollywood Hungama report updated that he would instead be seen as Ravan. Madhu Mantena’s original plan was to cast South Superstar Prabhas as Lord Ram but looks like Om Raut’s Adipurush bagged him as Ram first!
Mantena still wants a big South face to play Lord Ram and has approached another big Telugu star – Mahesh Babu!
A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama – “Madhu got the biggest shock when Om announced Adipurush with Prabhas. He immediately got his team and financiers to bankroll his Ramayana and now, Hrithik has come on board as the villain. Deepika remains Sita and he wanted a big south face to play Lord Ram.
Madhu has offered the film to Mahesh Babu who also liked the script. Madhu feels he has the innocence to pull off Shri Ram’s character. Mahesh Babu, on the other hand, has liked the script but is yet to give his nod to the project. What also helps is Madhu who has a connection with KWAAN, has managed to get all the three top stars who are clients of the same agency.”
