The Kapoor family lost another gem as Rajiv Kapoor passed away at the age of 58.
The ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ actor breathed his last after suffering a heart attack on 9 February 2021.
Hailing from the legendary Kapoor family; Rajiv was the youngest son of Raj Kapoor and the brother of Rishi and Randhir Kapoor. Unfortunately, his career didn’t quite take off like his brothers.
He was last seen in the 1990 film ‘Zimmedaaar’ post which he turned to production and direction. However, he had planned his comeback to acting in Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Toolsidas Junior‘ – co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Varun Buddhadev.
Toolsidas Junior is said to be an inspiring human sports drama. Reportedly, the late actor Rajiv will be seen in the role of Varun Buddhadev’s father while Sanjay will essay the character of a snooker coach.
On hearing the news of his demise, Ashutosh Gowariker had taken to social media to share his condolences. He also said that they had finished shooting for the project and were about to set up interviews for promotions.
“His performance in TOOLSIDAS JUNIOR is going to surprise everyone. Sadly, he won’t be there to enjoy the accolades he was surely going to receive. My team had called him just a couple of days ago, to set up his interviews for the promotion of TOOLSIDAS JUNIOR. And now, I still cannot believe that I am talking about him in the past tense,” Ashutosh had said in a statement, as per Bollywood Hungama report.
