Janhvi Kapoor’s shoot for ‘Good Luck Jerry’ had previously been halted by protesting farmers in Punjab.
Recently, it was reported that the farmers have refused to let the Deol family shoot in Punjab and Haryana.
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, schedule of Bobby Deol’s film ‘Love Hostel’ – also starring Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra – was supposed to kickstart in Patiala. The star cast wasn’t present but the movie crew had landed up at the location to set up equipment when the farmers arrived and asked them to leave Patiala!
According to the portal, after facing the angry protesting the filming crew then packed up and left the site. Around 150-200 farmers had gathered there and halted the shooting of the film, confirmed Inspector Harmanpreet Singh, Julkan police station.
“Bobby Deol’s brother Sunny Deol is a BJP MP, mother Hema Malini is a BJP MP and father Dharmendra is a former MP of BJP,” said a farmer said, when asked to comment on the matter.
The farmer representative said that they will not let any member from the Deol family shoot in Punjab and Haryana nor let them enter their state.
He further added that the Deol family had not talked about the protests for two months but were quick to support the Centre after Rihanna’s tweet on the protest caused a social media storm.
Here’s what Hema Malini had previously tweeted, taking a dig at international celebrities commenting on Indian affairs:
