The farmers’ protest has now gathered worldwide attention and many celebrities have stood in support of it in the past.
After legendary singer Rihanna tweeted about the same, other international celebrities and activists such as Lili Singh, Greta Thunberg, etc. spoke on the issue.
Salman Khan, who was recently spotted arriving at an event, was also asked about the current scenario. As per a Pinkvilla report, the actor responded to the question and said, “The right thing should be done. The most correct thing should be done. The most noble thing should be done.” Salman has expressed his opinion on the matter for the very first time.
The Ministry of External Affairs had issued a statement over the ongoing protests with the hashtags namely #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.
Celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, and others used the hashtags to bring awareness. However, this brought about mixed reactions from the netizens for having supported the Centre and its new farm laws. While many termed them as ‘opportunists,’ a few others also called them out for not standing with the farmers.
