There is nothing like some healthy, competitive rivalry to keep things interesting, is there?
Some times even if an actor is keen on landing a role, but another actor is practically tailor-made for it, what can one do?
It may interest you to know that Katrina Kaif and Richa Chadha… were vying for the same role, however, Chadha beat Kaif, because she got ‘every nuance’ right!
Katrina Kaif, who had once been a part of the political thriller ‘Rajneeti’ was extremely interested to be a part of the Subhash Kapoor directorial ‘Madam Chief Minister’. She even auditioned for Kapoor to consider her.
“She’s been part of Prakash Jha’s political-thriller ‘Rajneeti’ and was looking for an out-and-out female-led project. So, when she heard of the film Subhash was making, she recorded an audition tape on her own and sent it to him,” a source told TOI.
Too bad for Kaif though, as Subhash had already found his dream leading lady in Richa after watching her interview, and was convinced only she could pull it off.
The source also commented to TOI, saying – “He thought she (Richa) would be perfect for the role of the powerful political figure around whom his film revolves.”
“The physicality, look, diction was all very integral to the part and Richa got every nuance right,” the source concluded!
Well, better luck next time Katrina!
