Comedy King Kapil Sharma has become the household name for his hilarious comedy.
Yesterday, Kapil took over the internet by sharing the “auspicious news” of his OTT debut.
Kapil Sharma, who is currently hosting ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, took to social media to announce his first-ever collaboration with Netflix. The 39-year-old comedian posted a video in which he was seen struggling to pronounce the word “auspicious” during a shoot.
Sharing the video, Kapil wrote, “Don’t believe the rumors guys, only believe me. I’m coming on @NetflixIndia soon Star-struck. Partying face this is the auspicious news.”
While it is unclear whether the project is a comedy special, series, or film, it will premiere on Netflix in 2021 globally.
According to a source of The Indian EXPRESS, the team is still working on the details of the project, and there is no confirmation whether it will be a series or a one-off special. While the details of the project will be announced soon, the cast details are kept under wraps.
Talking about his Netflix debut, the comedian stated, “I am super excited for my first-ever association with Netflix. 2020 has been a bumpy ride for everyone around the world and my motive is to make people forget their worries and welcome this new year with love, laughter, and positivity. I always wanted to be on Netflix but I didn’t have their number. It’s a project close to my heart and I cannot wait to share more details with my fans soon.”
On Monday, teasing the fans that he has an “auspicious news” to share, Kapil asked on Twitter, “Shubh samachar ko English me kya kahte hain, kripya batayein?”
Kapil made her Bollywood debut with Abbas-Mustan‘s ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ in 2015.
