Deepika Padukone immediately shot to fame after her debut film Om Shanti Om with Shah Rukh Khan in 2007.
However, did you know that the actress was offered her first film by Salman Khan?
When DP was approached by Salman’s Team, she wasn’t quite ready for the star life then. She said, “He offered me my first film when I was too young and I was not ready to be in front of the camera. I will always be grateful to him. Just the fact that he offered me a film was a great thing. It is taking a long time for us to come together on screen, so I think there is something special waiting for us.“
What’s more surprising is that this wasn’t the only chance Padukone got to work with Salman. She was also offered the female lead in Jai Ho, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan by Khan. Sadly when Deepika could not make it, Daisy Shah made her debut in ‘Jai Ho’ while Jacqueline Fernandez worked with Salman in ‘Kick’.
Deepika has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in two other movies apart from ‘Om Shanti Om, Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’. As per DNA, they have also been paired together in YRF’s upcoming movie ‘Paltan’.
