Looks like the cat is out of the bag for Varun Dhawan and girlfriend Natasha Dalal!
When he featured as a celebrity guest on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s show ‘What Women Want’, the latter accidentally spilled the beans about his engagement!
While she asking Varun about his love story, Kareena addressed Natasha as his fiancé – “You know your fiancé Natasha since your school days, I want to know who made the first move and how did you all decide that this it it, we have to get married?”
Whoa… that counts as an official confirmation, doesn’t it?
The Coolie No. 1 actor replied to Kareena, “See, marriage, now coming into this time period when you have been with someone for so long… I felt like getting married after I saw my brother and my bhabhi. When I saw my niece Niara, I was like, ‘This is good’.”
“Natasha and her parents have been pretty chill in that sense but I think after a certain period; you decide that you want to live with each other. She and I wouldn’t have minded a live-in relationship but my parents wanted us (to get married)… Because I have my own place now,” he said.
The handsome hunk also revealed that he had been rejected thrice by his ladylove! The duo were childhood friends way before they started dating..
“The first time I met Natasha was in the sixth standard. We have not been dating since then. We were friends till the eleventh or twelfth grade. We were very close friends,” he shared.
Varun then sweetly recalled the moment he fell in love with Natasha!
“I still remember, we went to Maneckji Cooper, she was in the yellow house and I was in the red house. It was on the basketball court. So, in the lunch break, in the canteen, they give you food and an energy drink. I remember her walking, I remember seeing her and actually, when I saw her that day, I felt like I fell in love with her. That was it,” he said.
“She rejected me three-four times,” he admitted to Kareena, “But I didn’t give up hope.”
According to reports, Varun and Natasha were to get hitched this year itself and had reportedly set Thailand as their wedding destination. However, the Covid-19 pandemic threw a wrench into their plans.
