As per The Indian EXPRESS, the thrilling spy drama ‘A Call To Spy’, which marks Radhika’s international film debut, is all set to release in India on Amazon Prime Video on 11th December 2020.
This Lydia Dean Pilcher directorial movie is the untold true story of three World War II heroines, starring Radhika Apte, Sarah Megan Thomas, and Stana Katic. Along with acting in it, Saran Megan has also written and produced this movie.
Radhika, who plays the role of Noor Inayat Khan in the movie, said that she is excited the movie has found a platform like Amazon Prime Video after its critical success in the US and UK.
Talking about the project, she said, “I couldn’t be happier to be an integral part of this film, working alongside such an incredible cast from around the globe. Since the movie has already premiered globally, I have been waiting for the moment when Indian audiences get the chance to watch this thrilling spy drama.”
She further added, “I am hoping that they too will shower the same love and appreciation that we received from other parts of the world.”
Sarah revealed that Apte was her first choice for the role of the Muslim Pacifist. “Radhika Apte is an incredible talent, and it was a joy to work with her. She was my first choice for the role of Noor Inayat Khan, and audiences will find Radhika’s portrayal of Noor nuanced, complex, and heartbreaking,” the writer-actor added.
The story revolves around the unsung female spies of Winston Churchill’s Special Operations Executive (SOE), who worked to undermine the Nazi regime in France.
Katic plays ‘Vera Atkins‘ who recruits two unusual candidates: ‘Virginia Hall’ (played by Thomas), an ambitious American journalist with a wooden leg, and ‘Noor Inayat Khan’ (played by Radhika Apte), a wireless officer of Indian descent and a Muslim pacifist.
