The bubbly star’s next movie ‘Karram Kurram’ has quite a crunchy twist to it. It’s based on the story of the woman who started the popular ‘Lijjat Pappad’ brand!
Presented under the banner of renowned Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, the film is being produced by Sunita Gowariker and directed by Glenn Baretto.
Featuring Kiara in the lead, Karram Kurram promises a tale of women empowerment. It will revolve around the journey of the woman who brought together 6 other housewives to earn for their households, and in process, started the Indian women’s cooperative ‘Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad’.
The movie will trace the inception and rise of the FMCG conglomerate and how it established a monopoly in the commercial papad market.
Swati R Paradkar, president of the Indian women’s cooperative, had earlier told Mumbai Mirror, “We are honoured that Ashutosh Gowariker is making a film on Lijjat. The journey is not only fascinating but also inspiring for people.”
