Vijay Raaz was arrested on the 2nd of November by the Gonda police after reportedly molesting a female crew member while shooting for the upcoming movie ‘Sherni’ which also stars Vidya Balan.
The actor was arrested and taken to Ramnagar Police Station but was later released on bail.
The incident apparently took place in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. Now, as per a report, the producer of Sherni, Vikram Malhotra, and director Amit Masurkar set up an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on Wednesday to investigate the matter. A source also mentions that Vijay Raaz ha already left for Mumbai this Tuesday and will apparently not be returning to the sets anytime soon.
“Vijay left for Mumbai on Tuesday after he was granted bail. He didn’t even return to the hotel where he had been put up. The production head informed the crew on Wednesday that Vijay won’t be resuming work. Though he had two scenes remaining, Vikram sir and Amit were certain that he should not be allowed on the set, in keeping with Abundantia Entertainment’s zero-tolerance policy for workplace harassment,” mentions the source.
The source also added, “The makers will decide on the punitive action against Raaz once the ICC ruling is out. For now, they have their eyes set on completing the shoot by the weekend.”
After halting the shoot for a while, the remainder of the cast and crew have apparently resumed their work on floors.
