Actor Vijay Raaz of Gully Boy and Dhamaal fame is known for his impeccable comic talent but recently he hit the headlines for a wrong reason.
Vijay was reportedly shooting in Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh) for Sherni (which stars Vidya Balan in the lead) when he got arrested by Gondia Police!
As reported by ANI, the actor was arrested for allegedly molesting a female crew member. He was taken to Ramnagar Police Station.
As per Indian Express report, Raaz was granted conditional bail by the local court.
“The woman came to us with the complaint on Monday night, saying she was molested by Vijay Raaz in a hotel where the film crew is staying. Based on her complaint, we lodged an FIR and arrested Raaz on Tuesday morning. A local court later granted him conditional bail,” said Gondia Additional Superintendent of Police, Atul Kulkarni.
“We collected evidence of the incident and then proceeded to arrest Raaz,” Kulkarni said, adding, “There are eye-witnesses from the crew who have spoken to us about the accusation being true.”
After Raaz’s arrest, the shoot of the film had been reportedly stopped.
The 57-year-old actor was recently seen in OTT films like ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ and ‘Lootcase’. He will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, starring Alia Bhatt.
