Recently, Actress Luviena Lodh had dropped another bomb in Bollywood, accusing Mahesh Bhatt and family of harassment.
She had claimed that her husband Sumit Sabharwal who allegedly dealt in drugs and women was Bhatt’s nephew. However, Sumit has DENIED being related to the Bhatts!
Luviena’s Husband NOT Related to Bhatts
As per DNA, a press release from Lodh’s husband Sumit Sabherwal made it clear that Sumit was just Vishesh Films’ employee and not related to the Bhatt brothers. He also denied Luviena’s allegations, terming them a ‘well-crafted conspiracy’ for a ‘lucrative settlement’.
“We stand concerned for our client Mr Sumit Sabherwal. The claims and contents of the video being circulated by our client’s estranged wife Mrs Luveena Lodh are denied in toto. Our client expresses his deepest regret that the good name of Mr Mahesh Bhatt and Mr Mukesh Bhatt is being sullied solely due to his pending (since 2016) matrimonial dispute with his wife.
It is made amply clear that our client is merely an employee of M/s Vishesh Films Pvt Ltd and NOT related to either of the Bhatt Brothers, as falsely and maliciously been sought to be made out by the video in the question. Every attempt being made in order to formulate a relation between our client and the Bhatt brothers must be construed as a well-crafted conspiracy to precipitate and motivate a lucrative ‘settlement’ for her disputes with our client; as is amply made clear in her interviews as well. Our client has the highest regard for the judiciary of our country and reserves his actionable claims against Mrs Luveena Lodh for charges as and when he may institute against her.”
1 Crore Defamation Suit
Meanwhile, Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his brother Mukesh had denied all allegations and filed a defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against Luviena Lodh for making defamatory, slanderous and false allegations against them.
html. The Bhatts have sought Rs 1 crore in damages from Lodh and also an order restraining her from making any such false claims in future. They also want an “unconditional apology’’ from her.
As per TOI, Bombay HC has granted part interim relief to Bhatt brothers by restraining Luviena from making and circulating any defamatory statements against them.
However, the court has not passed any interim order at this for the removal of her video which the Bhatts’ alleged was defamatory against them. It gave Lodh three weeks to file a reply to the suit.
As reported by DNA, Luviena reacted to the development saying that she was speaking the truth and she would stand by it.
“I am not making any defamatory statements. I am telling the truth and I stand by it,” Lodh said, while interacting with the media.
Luviena had alleged that her husband that Sabharwal was in the business of supplying drugs and human trafficking. She also alleged that Mahesh knew of this business and called him the ‘biggest don’ in the industry.
Extortion Case Against Luviena
Meanwhile, Luviena Lodh has invited further trouble for herself with an extortion complaint being filed against her! In her video, Luviena had named Mahesh Bhatt Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Sumit Sabharwal, Sahil Saigal, and Kumkum Saigal as people to be held responsible if anything bad happened to her and her family.
As per TOI, Producer Kumkum Saigal has now filed an extortion complaint against Luviena with Mumbai Police.
In her complaint, the 73-year-old producer mentioned that Luviena’s husband Sumit Sabherwal was given her son Sahil Saigal’s flat in Andheri to stay after his marriage. But, after marriage troubles, Sumit left the house since Luviena filed an FIR against him in 2016.
However, Luviena now refuses to vacate the property stating one or the other reason. Kumkum also wrote about Luviena’s video, stating that it has caused adverse effect on her health and family’s reputation. Kumkum Saigal has accused Luviena of conspiring against her family for extortion.
