Vivek Oberoi’s Home Raided By Bengaluru CCB, Here’s WHY!

On Thursday, Bengaluru Police raided Saathiya actor Vivek Oberoi’s Mumbai residence,  in connection with the sandalwood drug scandal probe!

However, it looks like the cops were not after the actor, but his brother-in-law, Aditya Alva.

Cops search Vivek’s home in search of absconding brother-in-law Aditya Alva

As per India Today report, Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law Aditya Alva’s name cropped up in the Sandalwood drugs case, and he had been absconding since September 4.

Bangalore additional commissioner said, “Aditya Alva is absconding. Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we had information that Alva is present there. So we wanted to check, a court warrant was obtained and the CCB team has gone to his house in Mumbai.”

2 inspectors from CCB Bengaluru began the raids at Vivek Oberoi’s house around 1 pm, and left after two-and-a-half hours.

The Bengaluru Police official also said that they were assisted by the local police in Mumbai. The official further said, “Also, he may know his whereabouts. So this action was taken. Raid is still going on.”

Earlier in August this year, Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh exposed the Sandalwood drugs racket and reportedly named at least 15 people in the Kannada film industry who were involved in drug trafficking. Aditya Alva, who is the son of former Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva, Shivaprakash Chuppi and Sheik Faazil are a few of the prime accused in the said case.

They have been missing ever since the police launched a crackdown against drug peddlers, suppliers and rave party organisers. So far, 12 people have reportedly been arrested in the matter.

Actresses like Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani are under judicial custody.
