Rhea Chakraborty’s neighbour Dimple Thawani had claimed that SSR dropped Rhea at her residence on June 13, the night before his demise.
The actress has now filed a complaint against the neighbour for making ‘patently false and bogus allegations’ to ‘mislead the investigation‘.
Rhea said that the neighbour’s allegation – “that the late Sushant Singh Rajput had dropped me to my residence in his car on June 13” was utterly false.
“The said conduct makes out a prima facie case punishable under Section 203 and 211 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, one of which is punishable with imprisonment for a minimum of seven years.”
“The said offences are serious and the allegations were made on the Republic TV channel without any basis. I am forwarding a recording of the same,” stated Rhea’s complaint.
As per TOI report, on Sunday when the CBI had recorded Thawani’s statement, she had reportedly failed to substantiate her claims.
Sources said that when the CBI questioned Thawani, she said she never saw Sushant and Rhea together on June 13, but had heard someone saying this.
Earlier in a statement, Maneshinde had said, “We will start going after people who defamed and tried to destroy her (Rhea) life…for a 2-minute glory on electronic media carrying fake news. One such person was Dimple who claims she is an SSR fan, and believes she is his soulmate due to a past life connection. She claims that someone told her that SSR dropped Rhea home on the 13th.”
“We know this neighbour. She was a huge fan of Sushant’s who came over to our place to meet him once. Why she’d say something like this without proof is beyond me. One just has to look at Sushant or Rhea’s cellular location to know this whole thing is just another lie,” Rhea’s mother Sandhya had said.
Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has requested the CBI to take legal proceedings against “those who mislead the investigation”.
