Directed by Sudhir Mishra, Serious Men is a film to look forward to. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film focusses on a ‘true theory’ of the middle-class mentality and generational success.
The trailer was released yesterday on the 17th of September and has already crossed a million views.
The trailer shows us how the movie is expected to be a satire on the middle-class family mentality and how it takes four generations to get the wanted success and wealth.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character, Ayyan Mani, makes his son a genius and wants people to give him fame as he makes him look extraordinary. The movie is based on a book by Manu Joseph titled the same, ‘Serious Men’.
Netflix’s official synopsis for the original read, “When a slum dweller spins a web of lies in pursuit of the upward mobility he has long craved, his ruse could be especially dangerous for his young son.”
“I am very excited to be a part of Netflix’s Serious Men and work with a creative mind like Sudhir Mishra. This is my second stint with Netflix after Sacred Games, and I hope that people give Ayyan Mani from Serious Men the same love that they extended to Ganesh Gaitonde from Sacred Games,” Siddiqui stated as per a Hindustan Times article.
