The Bandra Police Station has registered an FIR against SSR’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Mitu Singh and also Dr Tarun Kumar, an associate professor of cardiology in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi on basis of Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint.
They’ve been charged with abetting suicide, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy under section 464, 465, 466, 468, 474, 306, 120 (B), 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 8 (c), 21, 22, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Case Transferred to CBI as per Supreme Court’s Orders
The Supreme Court had ordered that CBI would investigate if any other case was registered in connection with Sushant’s death.
As per Supreme Court’s orders, the FIR registered in Bandra based on Rhea’s complaint has been transferred to the CBI.
N Ambika, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (headquarters-1) and a spokesperson for Mumbai Police, said, “As per Rhea’s compliant, an FIR has been registered at Bandra police station. In line with the Supreme Court’s (SC) order, the case is duly transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.”

Rhea’s FIR said that the accused “hatched a conspiracy and obtained false prescription on the letterhead of a government hospital for a banned medicine, which is annexed under the NDPS Act, and administered the same without supervising doses and quantity which may result in a chronic anxiety attack and which resulted in the commission of suicide.”
Rhea in her statement for this FIR has said that on 8th June’s morning she saw Sushant’s sister Priyanka’s message in Sushant’s phone where she asked him to take all these tablets. Rhea confronted Sushant and asked him to not to take those medicines but he didn’t agree with her and asked her to leave the house.
Rhea alleged that after she left on 8th June, Meetu Singh came to stay with Sushant, and till 12th June, Meetu was the only person taking care of Sushant. Rhea further stated that Meetu administered the medicine in Dr Tarun Kumar’s prescription without supervising the doses and the quantity of the medicine, due to which Sushant’s health worsened.
Rhea also stated in the FIR that she came to know from the media that on 13th June night, one of SSR’s house staff had given him a marijuana joint. Rhea alleged that the marijuana joint and the medicine prescribed by Priyanka Singh must have taken Sushant to the drastic step of suicide.
Rhea also said it was a fabricated prescription as it mentioned Sushant as an OPD patient and these medicines can’t be prescribed based on telephonic consultation.
Rhea further mentioned that Meetu and Priyanka were beneficiaries of Sushant’s bank accounts and always wanted to control his finances.
Rhea said that when Sushant went to Chandigarh to meet Nitu Singh and OP Singh in January 2020, when he came back, he stopped taking his medicines prescribed by Dr Kersi Chawda on the insistence of Meetu and Nitu Singh, and further informed that he had undergoing medication suggested by Priyanka Singh.
She also mentioned the incident of SSR’s brother-in-law, OP Singh calling Siddharth Pithani and pressurizing him to say that Rhea siphoned off Sushant’s money, which Siddharth refused to do. She questioned how could an IPS officer coerce a witness in the case.
She also mentioned the alleged molestation incident by Priyanka Singh in the FIR.
She concluded with – “I suspect that, due to such banned medicine prescribed by Dr. Tarun Kumar at the behest of Priyanka Singh having knowledge that such banned medicine and heavy dose of medicine may result into chronic attack which may damage health of Sushant Singh further and the medicine might have been procured by Meetu Singh and further consumption by Sushant Singh which resulted into suicide. Hence I say that Priyanka Singh, Meetu Singh and Dr. Tarun Kumar had abetted to his suicide.”
Talking about the FIR filed in Bandra Police station, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde shared a statement which read as, “Rhea Chakraborty has set the Criminal Law in motion by filing her complaint with Bandra Pstn. The Cocktail of Illegally Administered Medicines and Drugs may have lead to SSRs suicide on 14th June 2020. His sisters need to be answerable to the investigators and God.“
VIKAS SINGH STATEMENT
The senior lawyer, while addressing the media on Monday, also said that Rhea’s complaint is just an attempt to “somehow keep the Mumbai Police active in this case.” He added that the telemedicine guidelines are under the purview the Medical Council of India (MCI) and there is no police jurisdiction in such a matter. “Moreover, in my opinion, by filing this complaint, Rhea herself has committed another offence punishable under section 182 of IPC (filing false complaint),” Singh said.
SSR Sister Reacts
Sushant’s sister Shweta reacted to the development with – “Nothing’s gonna break us, definitely not this fake FIR!”
Meanwhile, Rhea will be questioned by the NCB for the third time today.
