Vishal Bhardwaj has come out with VB Music’s second song, ‘Palkein Kholo’, which is not just soulful but also heartwarming.
Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh explored her direction skills for the first time as she inaugurates the Director in her with this music video.
Sung and composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, Palkein Kholo features Fatima too, apart from her just directing it. In an exclusive interview of Fatima, conducted by Instant Bollywood, Shaikh mentions that Vishal did not give her shooting lessons but let her do it the way she wanted to.
“Vishal sir asked me for my inputs, and then gave me the freedom to shoot the music video the way I wanted,” says Fatima.
Fatima talks about her dog, Bijli, featuring in the song and also talks about Bhardwaj’s cinematic appeal saying, “His songs match all of his worlds and they tap into different genres.“
“I was very fortunate to have the chance to work with him. Quarantine ke hi samay hi, par mila,” Shaikh continues. She also mentioned how she bagged the role in the music video. After getting a call from Bhardwaj’s team, she was asked if she wanted to be a part of ‘Palkein Kholo’. Of course, the starlet couldn’t refuse.
Fatima cheerfully gushes, “The song is about appreciating people around us during these unprecedented times. I’ve been pestering Vishal sir to make a film with me and when he made this offer, I jumped at it.”
Speaking in-depth about her experience as a director, she comically says, “Director toh humse naa hopayega.”
“The director is the driving force of the project and brings in so many people with different temperament. So to take everyone on a film journey and to bring out the best performance in everyone is a task. I can’t manage that,” Fatima states.
