There are new developments by the hour in the SSR Case. Rhea Chakraborty and her family have now been interrogated by the CBI.
NCB has also been probing the case, and as reported by Times Now, the Chakraborty family’s drug connection has been reportedly revealed. Shruti Modi’s lawyer too has made sensational claims.
Showik Allegedly Sought Drugs For Dad
As per Times Now, Showik’s chat with a drug peddler revealed he was scoring drugs for his father.
“Wanted a boom bro, dad wants… Didn’t realise his maal is over,” Chakraborty wrote to the peddler. Rhea’s father Indrajit has been summoned by CBI for 2nd round of questioning
Arrested Drug Peddlers Admit Links to Rhea and Showik
As per Times Now, NCB has arrested drug peddlers who have admitted links to Rhea and Showik.
Another report from Times Now states that a drug peddler named Showik Chakraborty while in custody.

As reported by Times Now, NCB claims that they have found 1st criminal culpability of the members of the inner ring of Rhea Chakraborty; alleges Rhea’s brother is in touch with big players in the drug cartel operating in Mumbai.
Shruti Modi’s Lawyer Blames Imtiaz Khatri
Shruti Modi’s lawyer Ashok Rastogi pins blame for alleged drug supply on Imtiaz Khatri who is the son of politically connected ‘controversial’ Mumbai builder.
As per Times Now report, Shruti Modi’s lawyer Ashok Rastogi said, “As far as drugs are concerned, it’s a very common thing in the film industry.”
“As far as supply is concerned, it is within the knowledge of police as well about how these things are supplied,” he claimed.
Rastogi made an explosive claim saying, “All these drugs are supplied by the topmost person in the trade – Imtiaz Khatri. He is a big person and has influence not just in Bollywood but also in the ministries. He is really close with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).”
CBI says no proof of murder, Probing suicide angle
However, meanwhile according to the latest report on India Today, 3 officers who are a part of the CBI probe, have stated that their team has so far not found any evidence that suggests Sushant was murdered on June 14. Moreover, the CBI team is now examining the suicide angle and is reportedly probing if an abetment to suicide case can be made.
According to the team conducting the probe, none of the forensic reports, statements of the key suspects or the reconstruction of the crime scene suggest that this is a case of homicide. While the CBI is focussing more on the suicide angle, it is not officially closing the murder investigation just yet.
The next key element in the probe will be the report submitted by the AIIMS forensics team which will weigh in on the post-mortem and autopsy reports of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Varun Mathur Called In by ED
The Enforcement Directorate has now summoned Varun Mathur – Sushant’s business partner to understand if there was any kind of financial misappropriation.
Varun and Sushant started Innsaei Ventures Pvt Ltd., labeling it as a “first-of-its-kind” venture in the Indian market dabbling in intellectual property and emerging technologies. However, the firm abruptly shut in 2019 for reasons unknown.
Sushant had also listed down 17 notes about the future goals he had set for the company; from meeting Elon Musk and PM Narendra Modi to expanding on virtual reality and superhero content. The notes also mention plans for a Netflix show, playing Swami Vivekananda, an education app, making a time travel app, making a dent in politics and monetising 20 million people as well as developing a flowchart on education.
