Kangana Ranaut officially joined Twitter recently and on Monday #Boycott_Kangana was seen to be the top trend on Twitter.
The actress expressed her opinions on the caste system and reservation. However, her views didn’t sit down well with Twitterati, who criticized her for being ignorant and presenting a ‘biased view’.
Reacting to Shekhar Gupta’s tweet, Kangana wrote – “Cast system has been rejected by modern Indians, in small towns every one knows it’s not acceptable anymore by law and order its nothing more than a sadistic pleasure for few, only our constitution is holding on to it in terms of reservations, Let Go Of It, Lets Talk About It”
She also commented that ‘deserving’ candidates in professions like doctors, engineers, pilots etc suffered because of reservation. Further, she alleged, “Reservation works on the same law as nepotism,” while adding, “There are many ways of uplifting the oppressed other than gifting them the ranks they don’t qualify for.”
The netizens then slammed her severely for her tweets, calling for her boycott:
