Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who had reached Mumbai from Patna to probe Sushant Singh Rajput’s case had been put under quarantine by BMC officials. Bihar Police had alleged that the Bihar IPS was not quarantined but under ‘house arrest’.
However, on August 7, BMC has released Vinay Tiwari from quarantine and asked him to return back to Patna by August 8. The four other officers returned to Patna yesterday.
After the IPS officer was released, Bihar Police Chief Gupteshwar Pandey took to Twitter and said, ”Following the remarks of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, Bihar Police Headquarters wrote a letter to the Commissioner of BMC yesterday requesting them to release IPS officer Vinay Tiwari. He is released today and will return to Patna this evening. Thanks to BMC.”
Previously, the Bihar Police Chief Pandey had warned legal action if the IPS officer was not released from “forcible quarantine” by the end of the day.
Meanwhile, CBI has officially taken over SSR’s case and filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her family and others accused.
