Today, 14th July marks one month from the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput on 14th June 2020.
Earlier, as a tribute to the late actor, a road was renamed after him in his hometown Purnea, Bihar.
Now, it has come to light that the Mumbai-based, close family friend of Sushant – Nilotpal Mrinal, has approached BMC with a special request.
Nilotpal has appealed to both BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and Aditya Thackeray that the road in Bandra, where Sushant resided, should be renamed after him as befitting tribute.
As per Midday, he said – “His loss is still being mourned, and it is only befitting that the road where he resided be named after him. I first approached Aaditya Thackeray and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal. They directed me to the officials of the H (West) municipal ward under whose jurisdiction the area falls. I have written to the local civic authorities.”
He has also suggested that if not a road, a chowk or a garden in the area can be named after Sushant. He said, “Currently, the municipal authorities are busy battling the pandemic. They have assured me they will look into it at the earliest.”
Let’s hope like his hometown, Mumbai also renames a road after Sushant Singh Rajput.
