The nepotism debate was again revived after Kunal Kemmu and Vidyut Jammwal were recently excluded from an important OTT conference!
Under Disney+Hotstar Multiplex’s – Bollywood ki Home Delivery; the direct digital release of 7 Big Bollywood films was announced.
Jammwal’s ‘Khuda Haafiz’ and Kunal Kemmu’s ‘Lootcase’ were revealed to be in the list of films to be released along with Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘Dil Bechara’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, Alia Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’, and Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘The Big Bull’.
However, only Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Akshay Kumar were invited to represent their films for the virtual announcement.
Representation of Khuda Haafiz and Lootcase was excluded by Disney+Hotstar as neither Vidyut Jammwal nor Kunal Kemmu were invited to the press conference.
Vidyut had taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at not receiving an invitation and being snubbed.
Kunal Kemmu too was hurt at this exclusion and stated that the playing ground should be levelled for all.
In support of Vidyut, Team Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to point out how it was such a shame that outsiders were treated badly even in the OTT space – where ‘everyone is new and an outsider’.
In the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the debate around nepotism, Insider vs Outsider has again come into the spotlight.
