Sushant Singh Rajput was battling against depression for quite sometime now. It was unacknowledged fact in the Bollywood industry that no one wished to address. Finally giving up, on June 14, 2020 Sushant decided to end his life by committing suicide and leaving a huge void in everyone’s life. Ever since, Bollywood and Television actors have been writing about the actor’s death on social media. Some are writing about mental health, while others apologised for not staying in touch.
One of which is Popular tv & movie Actor, Samir Soni. Samir opens up on the saddening news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. He admits how the Bollywood industry exists on extreme levels of pressure for one and all. He also mentions that there are many people who face similar thoughts as Sushant must have had.
He shared a post on Instagram stating, “To make my stand clear on the untimely death of one of our brightest rising stars SUSHANT SINGH (may his soul RIP) I am extremely disturbed because i know on any other day, it could have very easily been me or someone else hanging, instead of him, such are the pressures. But after over 20 years in this industry I have realized, GOD did NOT create us EQUAL or gave us equal opportunities, whether it’s in Bollywood, Politics, Business or any other field. So personally, I don’t like to point fingers on others, instead focus on beating the odds that are stacked heavily against me. Amen!”
This remorseful incident has sparked conversations on mental health issues and nepotism in Bollywood, with many actors sharing their stories of struggle.
