Bhakshak:
As per latest Peeping Moon report, Bhumi Pednekar has been roped in for their crime thriller movie ‘Bhakshak’ – based on the horrifying true story of the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home rape case!
What Is Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Rape Case?
34 girls, aged between 7 and 17, had been suffering from rape and torture for months at the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home in Bihar! As per India Today report, the girls would allegedly be drugged before rape and were forced to undergo abortions if they became pregnant.
The prime accused in the case – Brajesh Thakur was sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment.
In the movie, Bhumi will essay the role of a journalist who uncovers this bone-chilling incident. Directed by Pulkit, Bhakshak will go on floors in January 2022. Earlier, Arjun Kapoor was supposed to headline the project but he backed out due to date issues. So the makers have allegedly decided to make the movie a female-led project.
Apart from Bhakshak, Bhumi Pednekar has Raksha Bandhan with Akshay Kumar, Badhaai Do with Rajkummar Rao and Shashank Khaitan’s next film co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani.
