It’s been over a month since Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise on 14 June 2020, and the case is yet to come to a conclusion.
Though Mumbai Police is investigating the case currently, the public has been pressing for CBI inquiry into the matter suspecting foul play. Recently, Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty joined the demand for CBI investigation in his case.
However, talking to Mid-day, the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh stated that there was no need for a CBI probe as the Mumbai Police are competent enough to handle such cases.
Adding that the Mumbai Police is exploring all angles including professional rivalry, Deshmukh declared that as of now, no foul play was seen. He concluded by saying that the details of the investigation would be shared once it was completed.
“I have the tweets and the campaign. But I don’t think that a CBI probe is required. The Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle such cases and they are investigating every aspect of the case including professional rivalry. As of now, we do not see any foul play. Details of the investigation will be shared once it is completed.”
