The much-anticipated sequel of the Hera Pheri franchise is back in the news, and this time, it comes with an exciting update—Priyadarshan, the director of the original Hera Pheri, has agreed to helm the third installment.

Hera Pheri 3: Priyadarshan Confirmed To Direct Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty?
It all began when Akshay Kumar wished Priyadarshan on his 68th birthday. In response, the filmmaker surprised everyone with a special announcement: “In return, I would like to give you a gift—I’m willing to do Hera Pheri 3. Are you ready, @akshaykumar, @SunielVShetty, and @SirPareshRawal?”
Overjoyed by this unexpected offer, Akshay Kumar responded enthusiastically, saying that even though it was Priyadarshan’s birthday, he was the one receiving the “best gift.” He then cheekily added, “Chalo karte hain phir thodi hera pheri,” officially accepting the offer.

The first Hera Pheri was directed by Priyadarshan, while its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), was helmed by Neeraj Vora. If Priyadarshan returns for Hera Pheri 3, it is sure to create a massive buzz at the box office.

Apart from reuniting with Priyadarshan for Hera Pheri 3, Akshay will also collaborate with him on Bhooth Bangla. The duo has previously delivered several hits, including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Additionally, Akshay is set to star in the biopic of C. Sankaran Nair and will continue his streak of hit franchises with Jolly LLB 3, Housefull 5, and Welcome 3.
