Property registration documents confirm that Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly sold his duplex apartment in Oshiwara, Mumbai, for an impressive ₹83 crore.
The apartment is part of The Atlantis, a premium residential project by Crystal Group. Spread across 1.55 acres, the development offers luxurious 4, 5, and 6 BHK residences.
Mr. Bachchan originally purchased the duplex in April 2021 for ₹31 crore. According to an analysis by Square Yards, based on IGR registration documents, the sale reflects a remarkable 168% appreciation in value. The transaction was officially registered in January 2025.

This sale highlights the star’s sharp investment acumen and underscores the consistent demand for high-end properties in Mumbai’s real estate market.
The duplex apartment was previously rented out to actress Kriti Sanon in November 2021 for a monthly rent of ₹10 lakh, with a security deposit of ₹60 lakh, as per IGR lease documents analyzed by Square Yards.
Spanning an impressive built-up area of 529.94 square meters (approximately 5,704 square feet), the apartment boasts a carpet area of 481.75 square meters (5,185.62 square feet), offering a luxurious and spacious living experience.
In 2024, the Bachchan family made significant real estate investments, totaling over ₹100 crore. These acquisitions focused on residential and commercial properties in key Mumbai locations such as Oshiwara and Magathane (Borivali East). Their strategic investment approach has bolstered their real estate portfolio, which now exceeds ₹200 crore in cumulative investments between 2020 and 2024.
On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan recently starred in Nag Ashwin’s ambitious project Kalki 2898 AD alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. He also appeared in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, which was released last year. Additionally, he continues to host the 16th season of the popular reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which celebrated its silver jubilee milestone this year.
