Maddock Films has announced its ambitious plans to expand its Horror-Comedy Universe with eight interconnected films and the next one will see Kiara Advani in Shakti Shalini.
According to a report by PeepingMoon, Shakti Shalini, set to hit theaters on December 31, 2025, will feature Kiara Advani in the lead role.
Drawing inspiration from Indian folklore, the film will be directed by Ajitpal Singh, acclaimed for his work on the critically lauded series Tabbar.
Shakti Shalini will be Maddock’s fifth standalone installment in its horror-comedy franchise, following popular hits like Stree and Bhediya. The film aims to deliver a fresh narrative while staying connected to the larger universe. According to the report, production is expected to begin in April or May 2025. With a storyline that combines folklore-inspired horror and humor, the movie promises to carve its own unique identity within the franchise.
Ajitpal Singh brings his signature storytelling brilliance to Shakti Shalini. Renowned for emotionally rich narratives like Tabbar and Fire in the Mountains, his selection promises a unique and refreshing approach to the film. Singh’s previous work has earned widespread acclaim, including accolades at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. His addition reflects Dinesh Vijan’s dedication to elevating the franchise by collaborating with visionary talent.
Kiara Advani’s entry into Maddock’s Horror-Comedy Universe positions her alongside leading actresses like Shraddha Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Fresh off completing Game Changer and War 2, Advani has a busy lineup ahead. She is set to headline major projects, including Don 3 opposite Ranveer Singh, both scheduled for release in 2026.
