Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Movie Review

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video starts off on a good note – packed with light-hearted scenes and funny albeit slightly tacky one-liners. But it goes off the rails pretty quickly, resulting in a chaotic, incoherent mess. Too many cooks spoil the broth here – there is way too much to keep up with and half of it doesn’t go anywhere.

Rajkummar Rao is stellar as always… his coming timing is on point but he is let down by the script at times. The 2nd half goes haywire with the inclusion of a shoddily done ‘Stree‘ ghost sequence. Instead of being a clever reference, it comes across as contrived and cringe. The in-your-face preachy monologue in the climax ends up being an overkill as well.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Movie Review

Tripti Dimri is in much better form here than in Bad Newz but nowhere near her potential in Qala and Bulbbul. It ends up being another mediocre role in the repertoire of an otherwise excellent actress. Comedy does not seem to be her forte.

Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat try their best to lift the substandard material and it works partly.

If you’re in the mood for some light-hearted, fluff comedy – catch Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in theatres near you.
