Ranveer Singh Convinced Mukesh Khanna For 3 Hours To Let Him Be Shaktimaan

Earlier this year, there was speculation that Ranveer Singh will be playing the superhero Shaktimaan, which was formerly played by Mukesh Khanna on television, in an upcoming film adaptation.

However, this casting choice sparked controversy, with Mukesh Khanna, the original actor who portrayed Shaktimaan in the popular television series, expressing his disapproval.

Khanna criticized Singh’s “image,” suggesting that he was not suitable for the role. As per reports, Mukesh said, “That poor guy (Ranveer Singh) was sitting in front of me for three hours. But it doesn’t reflect on his face, what it needs to play Shaktimaan. He looks fickle as if he will con somebody. But he is a terrific actor.”

Khanna revealed that Singh had personally met with him to discuss the possibility of taking on the role. Despite Singh’s efforts to convince him, Khanna remained steadfast in his belief that the actor was not the right fit for the character. He acknowledged Singh’s talent but emphasized that his appearance and demeanor did not align with the image of Shaktimaan.

Khanna’s stance has been largely supported by fans on social media. Many expressed their disapproval of Singh’s casting, citing concerns about preserving the integrity of the beloved character. Some even suggested alternative actors like Hrithik Roshan or Suraj Pancholi for the role.
