Kill Movie Review; Lakshya Debuts In One Of The Best Actioners Of 2024

Storyline:
NSG Commando Amrit (Lakshya) comes to know his girlfriend Tulika (Tanya Manikatala) is being forced into an arranged marriage.
He boards a New Delhi-bound train to stop her marriage and propose to her. But their romance quickly goes awry as the train gets hijacked by a gang of bandits, led by the menacing Fani (Raghav Juyal).
Despite being greatly outnumbered, Amrit and his army friend Viresh (Abhishek Chauhan) go on a death-defying kill-spree against 40 thugs to save the passengers.
Kill Movie Review:
Kill has cemented its place as one of the BEST actioners of 2024. But it is not for the faint of heart. They were absolutely not kidding about the gore and violence. It is indeed one of the goriest Hindi films to exist! A badass, relentless, adrenaline-filled, bloodthirsty rampage….This is Desi John Wick for sure!
It has an incredibly engaging fast pace and while the 1st half itself is quite intense, the 2nd half ramps up the energy and bloodlust to 100.
Kill makes brilliant use of the singular setting – even though it is set in the train, the chaos is captured smartly and the action isn’t hazy or hard-to-follow. The tension is maintained superbly throughout the film, eliciting a very sinister, claustrophobic feel at times.

Kill Movie Review:
The fights are well-choreographed but of course, if you’re squeamish about gore, fair warning – you’ll be left peeking at the screen from behind your fingers. After a while, when the kills start to feel a little repetitive, the makers throw in some incredibly fucked-up yet imaginative murder technique and you’re left awed but grossed out. The 2nd half has some insane, unique action stunts… the carnage is simply unreal!
Lakshya makes a stellar debut with Kill. He is in top form and makes for a convincing action hero indeed. His transformation from the rakshak in 1st half – powerful yet restrained, to the frightening, savage rakshas in the 2nd half is marvellous. That being said, Lakshya is a little rusty in the emotional scenes. But he gives a heart-wrenching performance in the interval and post-interval, the train is HIS BATTLEGROUND!

Kill Movie Review:
Since it’s a short movie, the focus is majorly on the action and so there’s not enough time to deeply flesh out the emotional components. Lakshya-Tanya’s romance is alluded to with a brief montage, thankfully not killing the momentum. The drama ends up feeling superficial and generic, nevertheless, the interval block comes as an absolute SUCKERPUNCH…. setting the stage for an even more vicious 2nd half.
Raghav Juyal is fantastic in Kill as the sinister, smug sociopath. He elicits a few chuckles with his dark one-liners. Raghav is the perfect foil to Lakshya’s character – his constant needling ultimately culminating into unleashing Lakshya’s bloodlust. While Lakshya excels in the action, Raghav overshadows him on the acting front.
Tanya Maniktala is effective in her role as the damsel in distress and gets her peak moment in the gut-wrenching interval scene. Seasoned actors like Ashish Vidyarthi are competent as the supporting cast, elevating the film even more.
Hit Or Miss:
Worth watching this train actioner on the big screen for its relentless yet well-shot fight sequences. A violent film that has hitherto never-been-seen-before in Bollywood! India’s answer to John Wick!
