Ishq Vishk Rebound Movie Review:

Ishq Vishk Rebound makes for a cute, cheesy, predictable one-time watch. But it fails to carry the charm and genuine connection that made the OG Ishq Vishk so endearing.

Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari’s Ishq Vishk Rebound suffers from confused, insincere and flimsy characters. It starts off promisingly but flounders its way to the interval block. The 2nd half is a bit more compelling though the drama is ultimately half-baked.

Rohit Saraf lives up to his chocolate boy image and is oozing charm. He takes the center stage in this rom-com but it happens at the expense of developing other characters. While he steals the show by hilariously breaking the fourth wall, one wishes the other roles were given equal justice too.

The gorgeous Jibraan Khan makes a confident, charismatic debut as a male lead (previously known as the child actor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham). He has the screen presence going for him and is even able to emote convincingly in the intense scenes. Jibraan would have benefitted from having a more substantial role in the film, instead of being reduced to the underwritten, second fiddle. The bromance between Jibraan and Rohit is adorable and would have loved to see more of that.

Ishq Vishk Rebound Movie Review:

Pashmina Roshan looks pretty and tries to deliver her best but fails to mark her presence. While her chemistry with both Jibraan and Rohit is cute enough, her character ends up being vapid and unlikeable. It is Rohit and his 4th-wall breaking that is doing the heavy lifting in these scenes to keep them from turning utterly bland.

Ishq Vishk Rebound does Naila Grrewal dirty; she gets the short end of the stick here but is nevertheless mature and competent in the brief time she appears on the screen. One thing that Ishq Vishk Rebound does have going for it, is the soundtrack – it is pleasant on the ears and filled with groovy numbers.

This is a Rohit Saraf film through-and-through. A one-time watch if you’re in the mood for something ultra cheesy!
