Taha Shah Talks About His Casting Couch Experience

Taha Shah has been in talks lately for his role of Tajdar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi and people have loved his performance.

However, in a recent interview, Taha Shah also shared his experience with the casting couch. Let’s know more about it.

While talking about his casting couch experience, Taha says, “Every industry has it, you can’t blame one industry for it.” He added, “There are good and bad people everywhere. Once they know about your weaknesses, they will use it against you.”

Taha Shah revealed the dark side of Bollywood. He spoke about how a director asked him to do something unethical to land a good role. However, he refused to do anything against his work ethic.

In the interview, he also mentions that your education and talent are the only things that will work in your favor and these unethical avenues will not benefit your career.

In another conversation, Taha also recalled an anecdote from his audition days when he stood in line for 13 hours but ended up leaving the project because they wanted to block him for four years. He also revealed that people took advantage of his desperation, and he got scammed several times. He said, “Before I got Yash Raj, I used to go for eight auditions a day. Many a times I used to give money for auditions. something around Rs 4000-10,000. I even got scammed 3-4 times when they would take money from me and the whole office would disappear the next day.”
