This Yami Gautam starrer is set against the backdrop of the abrogation of Article 370 which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Zooni Haksar (Yami Gautam) is a Kashmiri with a tragic past who goes on to become an intelligence officer. After successfully encountering a militant leader, she is reprimanded by her superior for bypassing protocols and promptly relocated for her arrogant insubordination. PMO Official Rajeshwari Swaminathan (Priyamani) then recruits Zooni to head an important mission of the National Intelligence Agency – to combat the unrest in the valley while Article 370 is being revoked.

Article 370 Movie Review:

Priyamani

Article 370 is an engaging ride from start to finish. Flaunting high production value, it is technically impressive.

Article 370 is thankfully devoid of jingoism! It doesn’t attempt to sway emotions by shoehorning any unnecessary, filler melodrama and instead keeps the narrative focused solely on the political intrigue. Packed with slick action scenes and a fast-paced plot, Article 370 manages to be thoroughly engrossing without being too dense to understand.

Yami Gautam gives a top-notch performance in this political drama! She plays Zooni with a steely-eyed determination and cold fury. She is utterly convincing as the no-nonsense Intelligence agent and balances the action and drama well.

Priyamani is terrific as the serious PMO official, understated yet absolutely efficient. The two leading ladies carry this film on their shoulders in perfect tandem. Both hit the right note with their effective portrayals.

Overall, Article 370’s sensitive subject is dealt with skillfully.

Hit Or Miss:

Definitely worth watching on the big screen! It is a technically impressive, smartly-written political drama.
