After multiple delays, Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan release date is out.
Directed by Amit Sharma (of Badhaai Ho fame), the biographical sports-drama has been in the making for almost 5 years now.
Ajay Devgn upcoming movie Maidaan finally gets a release date. Based on the golden era of Indian football, described from 1952 to 1962, the film also stars Gajrao Rao, Priyamani and Keerthy Suresh in important roles.
Devgn plays the role of the Indian national football team coach and manager Syed Abdul Rahim who is regarded as the architect of Indian football.
Maidaan was first slated to hit theatres in 2020 but got pushed multiple times due to unforeseen circumstances.
On Sunday (January 21), trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media and announced the released date of the Ajay Devgn starrer.

He wrote, “AJAY DEVGN: ‘MAIDAAN’ TO ARRIVE THIS EID… #Maidaan – starring #AjayDevgn – gets a new release date: April 2024 #Eid… Directed by Amit Sharma.”

However, the movie will not have a solo release. Maidaan will have a box office clash with Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s much-anticipated movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the action-entertainer stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F as female leads.

The teaser of Maidaan was unveiled last year. The video offered a glimpse of the illustrious era of Indian football, spanning from 1952 to 1962.
During this time, Syed Abdul Rahim’s guidance led the Indian football team to victory in the Asian Games of 1951 and 1962.
