Is Bobby Deol approached for a pivotal role in Ramayana movie?
The Nitesh Tiwari directorial is currently among the high-anticipated and much-talked about films.
After the blockbuster success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen as Lord Ram in Ramayana. Sai Pallavi plays the role of Sita, while KGF star Yash will essay the role of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s next.
Meanwhile, a recent Pinkvilla report suggests that the makers are considering Bobby Deol for Kumbhkaran‘s role in Ramayana. Deol grabbed a lot of eyeballs with his small yet impactful act in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
“Bobby is yet to get back to Nitesh Tiwari on Ramayana. He might or might not do the film, and will take a call in the next 2 months. Post the success of Animal, Bobby is right now flooded with offers from across the industry and he will be making his choices over the coming few months,” a source informed the portal.

However, the latest report suggests otherwise. According to ETimes, nobody from the Ramayana team has contacted Deol to play Kumbhkaran. The actor’s team has dismissed the ongoing reports and also mentioned that Bobby is not a part of Nitesh’s film.
Recently, it was also reported that Sunny Deol is in advance stage of discussion to play Hanuman in Ramayana. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
On the other hand, the Pinkvilla reports also stated that Lara Dutta has come on board to play the role of Princess Kaikeyi in Ramayana.
Reportedly, Lara is expected to join RK for the first schedule in March. While the movie is being planned as a trilogy, the actress is said to have thr major chunk of her role in Ramayana: Part One.

He feels Lara Dutta is perfect to play the part of Princess Kaikeyi, the third consort of King Dasharatha. The Oscar-winning company, DNEG is doing the VFX of Ramayana. The first part of the mythological film is expected to hit theatres in the second half of 2025.
