Fawad Khan is set to headline the first Netflix Pakistani series.
The said show, Netflix’s first Pakistan-themed Original, is titled – Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo.
As reported by Variety, the series is an official adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s 2013 Urdu-language novel of the same name.
The dynamic starcast also includes Fawad’s Humsafar co-star Mahira Khan, his Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed and Ahad Raza Mir who starred in the Netflix series, Resident Evil.
Others in the cast include Hamza Ali Abbasi, Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Iqra Aziz, Hania Aamir, Khushaal Khan, Nadia Jamil, Omair Rana and Samina Ahmed.
Fawad’s First Netflix Pakistani Series:
The story of the Netflix Pakistani series revolves around Sikandar, a Harvard law student and a talented artist named Liza. Sikandar experiences a life-changing incident that makes him keep others at bay, while Liza is bursting with life but has had a troubled past. They meet in Italy, as reported by Variety.
Reportedly, the series will be shot in Italy, UK and Pakistan among other places. The official release date is yet to be announced.
Besides Humsafar, Fawad Khan-Mahira Khan were also seen together in The Legend of Maula Jatt (2022), the highest grossing Pakistani film of all time. The Punjabi film – adaptation of the 1979 Pakistani cult classic of the same name – was made on a budget of Rs 45 crores and reportedly went on to make a whopping box office collection of Rs 300 crores!
The talented and good-looking popular Pakistani actor Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut opposite Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat. He also went on to appear in films like Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Mahira Khan played the female lead in Shah Rukh Khan’s 2017 film Raees.
