Directed by R Balki, the film hit theatres on 18 August 2023!
Co-starring Saiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles, Ghoomer revolves around the story of Anina, an aspiring cricketer who wants to play for the Indian team. However, her dream shatters after she faces a terrible accident and loses her right arm.
Abhishek Bachchan is seen as a cynical, alcoholic coach Padam aka Paddy.
Ghoomer Movie Box Office Collection Day 1:
Ghoomer received positive response from critics but failed to pull the audience to the cinema halls. Hence, the film opened to an underwhelming box office numbers.
According to Sacnilk, the sports-drama managed to collect only Rs 85 lakhs on its 1st day at the box office.

Ghoomer is facing tough competition from Gadar 2, OMG 2 and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at the box office.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog and heaped praises on his son for his performance in Ghoomer. The megastar also revealed that the film touched him deeply and bought tears in his eyes too.
“So yes, I saw GHOOMER back to back twice… Sunday afternoon… and then at night again… and the verdict is beyond mention… simply INCREDIBLE… eyes have been in the aqua flow from the very first frame… and when the progeny is involved, they flow copiously.”
For the unversed, Big B made a guest appearance in Ghoomer. He plays the role of a special commentator, however, Amitabh & Abhishek do not share any scene together in this film.
Talking about his son’s performance, he wrote –
“It is beyond all doubt that Ghoomer is a very superior film. I say this as a father yes, but also as a long-standing member of this fantastic fraternity. At this young age, Abhishek, and in the duration of the time (that) you have been in the Industry, you have played the most complex characters with immense conviction, diversity, and aplomb. Each one (has been) difficult and different, and each (one) successful. My pride has no bounds. It has been tough to be in reserve on compliments and facts. But no more. It has been spoken and shall be spoken ever. My love.”
On the work front, Abhishek has Remo D’Souza’s upcoming directorial Dancing Dad lined up. He is also in talks for Dasvi sequel.
