Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 is set against the backdrop of the ‘Crush India Movement’ of 1971, this time Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) is returning to fight Pakistan and rescue his son (Utkarsh). He promises Sakina (Ameesha) that he’ll save him. Sunny has been apparently been paid to the tune of Rs 20 crores – 30% more than his usual fees which is around Rs 5 – 6 crores – for Gadar 2.
Gadar 2 hit the cinemas on the same day as Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and the movies have been giving each other a tough competition.
On the work front, apart from basking in the success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is also working on Soorya, the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam crime thriller ‘Joseph’ and also has other projects in his kitty.
