When Ranbir Kapoor appeared on Kareena Kapoor’s chat show What Women Want, his remark on Urfi Javed‘s fashion had gone viral!
During one of the segments, Kareena had shown him a pic of Urfi’s outfit and even though Urfi’s face was cropped out from the pic, RK recognized her correctly.
RK had then said – “Is it Urfi? I am not a fan of this kind of fashion, but I believe we are living in a world today where if you are comfortable in your skin…” but he was interrupted by Kareena who told him that he had to simply comment if the outfit was ‘good taste or bad taste.’ To which RK opined it was ‘bad taste’.
Check out Kareena’s interview ( RK’s Urfi comment at 11:14 timestamp).
While RK was not a fan of Urfi’s fashion, Kareena on the other hand, called her ‘brave and gutsy’.
“I am not as gutsy as Urfi but I feel she’s extremely brave and extremely gutsy. Fashion is all about expression and freedom of speech. I think that the confidence with which she pulls it off, I think she looks really cool and amazing,” Kareena had commented to Times Now.
While talking to Humans of Bombay, Urfi commented that she was so elated to receive Kareena’s praise that it didn’t matter what Ranbir said. To hell with his comment!
“Kareena Kapoor has praised me. Kareena KAPOOR! It made me feel like I have achieved a lot. Uss din ka jo gham tha ki RK ne bola muje ‘bad taste’…bhaad mei jaaye Ranbir. Kareena ne meri tareef ki hai, toh kya hai Ranbir ki aukat. Kareena has praised me, I don’t need anyone’s validation on anything!” Urfi told the HOB (interview time stamp 42:26)
Of course, Urfi joking ‘bhaad mai jaaye Ranbir’ got INSANELY viral. The fashionista had to take to Instagram to clarify that she was being ‘sarcastic and humorous’ and didn’t find any malicious intent in RK’s remarks.
Reacting to the viral posts, she wrote – “I never said this, I was just joking k Ranbir
bhaad me jaye, Kareena ne Tareef kar di ab. I was being sarcastic, sarcasm, humour. Whatever
Ranbir said was his point of view, I didn’t find anything malicious in his statement. Sach me bhaad me jaane ko nahi bola Maine!”
