Mukesh Khanna’s evergreen iconic hero ‘Shaktimaan’ will be brought to the big screens with a new hero.
The series will be adapted into a trilogy movie format instead now. As per the ongoing speculation, Ranveer Singh is the top contender to headline the Shaktimaan movie.

“Ranveer will hear the script, get an idea of the vision that producers and directors have for the franchise, and only then play the superhero. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him as well to play a superhero on screen and hence, he is being cautious with what he picks up,” a source told Pinkvilla.
Rumour also has it that Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph has been approached to direct Shaktimaan as well. The source further added that Basil has met the Shaktimaan team frequently and is eager to helm the project too.
“The producers have asked Basil to come up with his own version of the screenplay to know if he is on the same wavelength as the team on the visual and story-telling front,” the source said.
For the unversed, Shaktimaan was originally a TV series that began airing on Doordarshan in 1997. Mukesh Khanna played the titular role and his alter-ego Gangadhar.
