New onscreen couple alert!
As per the latest buzz, Aditya Roy Kapur & Janhvi Kapoor are all set to team up for a crime-thriller.
If this Peeping Moon report is to be believed, Aditya & Janhvi have been roped in to headline Angrezi Medium director Homi Adajania‘s upcoming directorial – Murder Mubarak.
As the report further suggests, Pankaj Tripathi and Dimple Kapadia will also be seen in pivotal roles. The movie is said to be backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
“It’s a gripping whodunit set in Delhi and has tentatively been titled Murder Mubarak. Anuja Chauhan’s book is a thrilling crime novel with an air of romance and comedy. Its big screen adaptation requires an ensemble cast, and the makers have brought on board a string of stellar actors in Janhvi, Aditya, Pankaj, and Dimple. They play the lead roles while the casting for supporting characters is underway. Homi has kicked off the pre-production and will lock the shooting timelines in about a month.”
– a source informed the portal.
Based on Anuja Chauhan’s bestselling book, Club You to Death, Murder Mubarak is reportedly set in the fictional world of the elitist, antique, and most respected Delhi Turf Club (DTC) and follows the lives of two ex-lovers as they help 50-year-old cop, ACP Bhavani Singh, crack a murder case that takes place within the club’s premise.
Pankaj Tripathi plays the role of a 50-year-old ACP, while Aditya & Janhvi will be seen as ex-lovers with a lot of history and resentment without any proper closure.
The synopsis of the novel reportedly reads – “When a hunky personal trainer is found asphyxiated to death under an overloaded barbell at the posh Delhi Turf Club, on the eve of the club elections, it is first thought to be a freak accident. But soon, it becomes clear that one of the members of the DTC – all pickled-in-privilege Dilliwallahs – is a cold-blooded killer. As the capital bristles with speculation and conspiracy theories, Crime Branch veteran ACP Bhavani Singh is appointed to investigate the case. Together with his able deputies – ex-lovers Akash ‘Kashi’ Dogra, hottie crusader for human rights, and Bambi Todi, wealthy girl-about-town – ACP Bhavani sets out to solve a crime that seems simple enough at the surface, but turns out to have roots as deep and spreading as those of New Delhi’s famous Neem trees…”
Murder Mubarak is expected to go on floors early next year. The makers are reportedly eyeing for a late 2023 release.
