Storyline:

Terrorist Haq Gul (Aparshakti Khurana) takes housewife Sanchi Sinha (Khushali Kumar) hostage in her flat, making it to national news with his demands – that a certain Jibran be freed.

As time passes, he keeps adding on more demands – he now wants 50 lakhs and a car for his safe passage too. On the ground, Inspector Malik (Darshan Kumar) and Sanchi’s husband Yathaarth Sinha (R Madhavan) are frantically trying to negotiate with the terrorist.

Yathaarth insists that his wife is a patient of a delusional disorder and is a danger not only to herself but to others as well. Both Yathaarth and Inspector Malik keep looking to de-escalate the situation.

Meanwhile, in the flat, things have gone for a twist – Sanchi is empathizing with the alleged terrorist Haq Gul, who keeps saying he’s innocent of the crime he’s being accused of. Sanchi, in turn, lays down her version of events – that her husband is cheating on her with her psychiatrist and slyly feeding her the wrong pills to turn her insane.

What Do We Think?

Dhokha: Round D Corner lives up to its name – with new shocks and surprises turning up at every turn.

Aparshakti Khurana steals the show here – displaying various shades of vulnerability, desire and desperation. He emotes masterfully with his eyes. And his work on perfecting the Kashmiri accent is commendable.

He has a very packed role in Dhokha to show off his acting chops. His chemistry with Khushali Kumar is also convincingly good. Of course, there are few moments where you have to suspend your disbelief to enjoy the thriller.

Khushali Kumar is believable as the sexy siren and manipulator but in scenes requiring more emotional depth, she falls a little short. Neveretheless, Dhokha makes for a solid start for Khushali.

R Madhavan is dependable as always but here Aparshakti outshines him. Darshan Kumar is a stellar actor and his dynamic with R Madhavan keeps things interesting. The ending might feel a little cheesy but overall the plot is engaging enough to keep you entertained throughout!
