Mani Ratnam‘s upcoming release Ponniyin Selvan is a much-awaited blockbuster release.
Apart from the theatrical release, the movie will also have an OTT release soon.
Amazon Prime Video has bagged the rights to this movie for a whopping amount of 125 crores.
As per reports, the film is based on a famous historical Tamil novel of the same title written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It narrates the story of Arulmozhi Varman. Arulmozhi Varman was later crowned Rajaraja Chola I and he was the most powerful king of his time who reinstated the glory of the Chola dynasty during his reign during the 10th and 11th centuries.
The movie will also see the comeback of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to the silver screen after 4 years. She will be seen playing the role of Nandini/Mandakini’s character in this film.
