The drugs case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death is in headlines again.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed draft charges against Rhea Chakraborty in connection with this case.
As per TOI, the anti-drugs agency filed draft charges against the actress, her brother Showik Chakraborty and other accused before a special court on Wednesday (June 22).
According to PTI, special public prosecutor Atul Sarpande stated that the prosecution maintains all the charges against all the accused, as those mentioned in the chargesheet submitted before the court.
Reportedly, the prosecution proposed to the court to charge Rhea and her brother Showik for consumption of narcotic substances, as well as for procuring and paying for these substances for Sushant.
As the report further suggests, advocate Sarpande said the court was scheduled to frame charges against all the accused but a few of the accused moved discharge applications. The court has further said that the charges would be framed only after discharge pleas are decided.
The next hearing has been scheduled on July 12, 2022.
For the unversed, the NCB had charged the accused on charges including Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(A), 22, 27, 27A, 28, 29, and 30 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
