Salman Khan Blackbuck Poaching Case Update!

While filming for the 1998 film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, a case was filed against Salman Khan for allegedly two blackbucks in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Salman then challenged his five years’ conviction in the District and Session courts on April 5, 2018.

On Monday, the Rajasthan HIgh Court granted Khan permission to transfer the case to the Jodhpur High Court. Apart from Salman Khan, actors Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, and Tabu were also charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC. However, they were later on acquitted due to benefit of the doubt.

Sourced from a report, Khan’s counsel HM Saraswat says, “After a brief hearing, Justice PS Bhati granted permission to transfer the two petitions to the high court, where one petition by the state is already pending. Hearing of all these cases will now take place at one place, which will save valuable time.”

“While all these three different petitions belonged to the same matter, we had prayed for transferring the two petitions pending in the District & Session court to the high court so that all the three matters could be heard in the same court,” he continued.
