1. Sushmita Sen
Former Miss Universe and actress Sushmita Sen created headlines when she decided to adopt a baby girl, Renee, in 2000. She was merely 25 years old back then. Later in 2010, she adopted another baby girl – Alisah. She single-handedly raised her two daughters and we are in awe of her.

2. Karisma Kapoor
The ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ actress Karisma Kapoor was married to industrialist Sanjay Kapur and gave birth to her first child – Samaira (daughter) in 2005 and second born Kiaan (son) in 2010.
In 2014, the duo had a controversial divorce and Karisma retained full custody of her kids.

3. Raveena Tandon
The OG Tip Tip Barsa Paani girl, Raveena Tandon, adopted her two daughters Pooja and Chaya in 1995 when she was just 19. She was at the peak of her career and unmarried. Later in 2004, she married Anil Thadani with whom she has 2 more kids, Ranbir and Rasha.

4. Amrita Singh
‘2 States’ actress Amrita Singh gave birth to Sara Ali Khan (1995) and Ibrahim Ali Khan (2001) when she was married to Saif Ali Khan. In 2004 – 13 year after their marriage – the duo got separated and Amrita raised the two kids on her own.

5. Neena Gupta
Besides her impeccable acting, Neena Gupta is also known for her bold choices. Back in 1989, Neena had given birth to Masaba Gupta whom she raised as a single mother. Masaba was born to Neena Gupta and cricketer Vivian Richards.
Neena-Vivian started dating in the 1980s. For the unversed, Vivian was already married to someone else at that time and had two kids.
